What This Campaign Will Do
The Unbreakable Campaign is a three-year, $3 million initiative to ensure PPCW can meet this moment and the ones that follow. Launched in October 2026 at our inaugural Power to Protect Central & Eastern Oregon event, the campaign will build momentum through steady, year-round engagement with local providers, businesses, and individual supporters, and our signature October events each year.

Your Impact:
Your support will provide stable, flexible operating support for the Bend and Ontario health centers —
ensuring services remain strong and accessible for all of Central and Eastern Oregon, regardless of what happens in Salem or Washington, D.C.
Bolster our capacity to serve Idaho patients and others who cannot receive care in their home states —
meeting the surge in cross-state demand with the staffing and resources it requires to recruit and retain the clinical workforce needed to reduce wait times and expand access across the region
Strengthen PPCW's presence and visibility —
so that every patient who needs us knows we're here, and every community member who cares about healthcare access knows how to help.

Costs of Care In Central and Eastern Oregon
Every year, PPCW's Bend and Ontario health centers provide care that costs more to deliver than what insurance reimbursement, Medicaid, and self-pay revenue can cover, largely due to the financial realities facing the population we're proud to serve. More than 70 percent of our patients in Central and Eastern Oregon are on Medicaid (the Oregon Health Plan), and Medicaid reimbursement covers only about half of the actual cost of care. That means in most cases, we're already providing care at a loss, and that's before factoring in the added costs of operating in rural and frontier communities: higher percentage of patients on Medicaid or un-insured, higher per-visit costs, and long distances between the people who need care and the places that can provide it.
Put together, these realities create a roughly $1.68 million annual gap between costs and revenue across our Bend and Ontario health centers. People in Central and Eastern Oregon do show up to help close that gap: roughly $450,000 a year comes from individual donors who believe in care we provide, and another $200,000 comes from local and statewide institutional funders providing general operating and program support. Together, that's $650,000 a year covered by people and organizations who call this region home.
But that still leaves roughly $1 million a year to fully close the distance, all while demand continues to surge. The Unbreakable campaign exists to close that gap and prepare our health centers for what's ahead.; It's a three-year, $3 million commitment to finish what this community has already begun. This is what it will take to ensure that everyone in our part of the state has somewhere to turn for care, no matter their insurance coverage, and that our commitment to them remains unbreakable.
